Comments about Ram Mounts Swing Mount:

Best mount I've ever seen. I mounted a Raymarine C70 on it with the extension arm, worked perfectly. There is one negative review here in this section. I don't know why they were unhappy. I've owned and used both of the mounts they talk about. The other aluminum, West Marine branded mount vibrated.with the Raymarine on it. I'm not sure how that would be better.

very heavy duty, though I wouldn't want to load it with 60# unless mounting system was re-inforced.

Comments about Ram Mounts Swing Mount:

I bought this swing arm, along with the available extension, to mount a ham radio. The assembly of swing arm + extension is functional, but if you expect the straight arms shown in the images you'll be sorely disappointed. The arms are curve in a way which reminds me of a 19th century catalog. Not everyone will be put off by the shape, but my gripe is the curves cause the base on which the radio sits to be some inches higher than I'd expected.

Not a huge deal, but the painted finish has already chipped exposing the underlying aluminum. Easily touched up, but it did go into the packaging at RAM Mount looking that way.

In 2001 I bought a similar device from West Marine for our catamaran. It was a welded & machined assembly with hard black anodized finish. How I wish it were still available!

            Service and delivery comments:

Excellent delivery... what I've grown to expect from West Marine.
