A nice display except it will drive you nuts. Starting a generator, using a powered winch or windlass, starting the motor, each will crash this and cause a reboot.
It was near impossible to center the cursor on a given spot to select an AIS target for more information. Why should it jump around?
There are two completely different menus systems. I spent 90 minutes trying to dim the display and finally gave up. It turned out to have a second menu system in the power button. Ok, now that I know that, it is easy, but made it impossible to dim the display that night. It is a stupid thing to do really. Why not have a link to that menu in the main menu system.
OK, now if you want to link this to the standard NMEA 2000 network you will need to spend a small fortune in adapter. They should know that this is what people will do and make a helpful cable. NO INSTEAD they want to screw you over and force you to use all Ray Marine Products. That is not going to happen.
It all starts with the chart display. Choose another brand that is compatible with NMEA 2000 without enormous hassles and expensive cables and you will find yourself much happier using some other product.
