    Comments about Stanchions:

This is a very nice stantion, with good quality stainless steel. It has good through holes that are smooth for the lifelines to pass through. My boat has dyneema lifelines (not steel), so this is important.

I purchased a SeaDog line base and this stantion fit into it very well. The only issue was the hole for the securing screw did not line up, so I epoxied it in place instead. Have you ever tried to drill through a stainless stantion? I failed even with cobalt bits in a drill press!

One note, read the description carefully. The picture shows the base and a gate brace. These are NOT included with the stantion. This is only the bare upright stantion with no mounting bracket or gate brace.

          Comments about Stanchions:

Replaced three stanchions that were damaged in winter storms - as soon as I got the new ones out of the box I could see that they were better than the originals.
