old fuel cap was missing the o-ring and I did not even notice till my motor started running poorly. Come to find out, boat was left outside in the rain the night before I took it out and the motor would not even run... Come to find out, Lot's of water in the fuel

Don't buy plastic filler caps. The thread gets messed up after a few fill ups. The only down side to this steel cap is the fact that the safety chain that you attach to the inside of the fuel filler line, is difficult to attach. If you don't attach it securely, when you pull the hose nozzle out, it pull the chain off and plop! Time to buy another.
