Asymmetric Bowsprit Kits, Carbon Gennaker Pole
Fly an asymmetric spinnaker without hassles using Selden's Asymmetric Bowsprit Kit.
Extendable gennaker bowsprits are sold as a kit that just needs the correct bow bracket for your boat (sold separately, see the sizing guide below) to complete installation.
Just attach the two stainless steel padeyes to the deck in line with the bow bracket, which is a stainless ring with a low-friction polyamide inner lining through which the bowsprit slides into the “active” position. After you douse the gennaker, just retract the bowsprit back and secure it to the aft eye. It can be easily removed and stowed securely belowdeck.
The gennaker tackline runs through the inside of the bowsprit, exiting through the rounded fairlead in the pole’s inboard end. It can be lead aft to the cockpit. Alternatively, you can also attach the tackline externally to a block on the outboard end of the pole.
