Comments about Mariner 8300 8' VHF Antenna:

Product is good, shipping was a nightmare. Chose the "free" shipping method. That method uses Fedex to send it to the local post office. The local post office won't deliver it because it was too big. So I had to drive 8 miles to the post office. I get there and it's broken in half. So WM overnighted me a new one, except they forgot to, so eventually 4 days later I get one overnighted fedex, but it too was torn in half. Fortunately, the antenna wasn't broken, just the tube it was in. So, WM stepped up to the plate and replaced it, but I will never use the free shipping again, and will think twice when using FedEx, since they handle large packages so poorly.

Comments about Mariner 8300 8' VHF Antenna:

Original antenna failed after about 10 years. I was suprised the original Shakespeeare came apart as easily as it did. Cut the coax to suit, installed the RF connector and back in business for hopefully another 10 years.

Good quality works fine, just so you know, you do have to connect and solder the connector for the plug to the radio. It's included. Good thing though so you don't have to drill a big hole depending were you mount it.

Comments about Mariner 8300 8' VHF Antenna:

I bought this for the low price, it seems to be a very good antenna, I installed this with my very first marine radio and didn't really know how it worked, once on the river, i called on channel 9 for a radio check and got answers from over 20 miles away, they said I was loud and clear. I now feel safe going off shore with this product being part of my safety equipment.
