Product Description

Designed for boats with multiple fixtures, these pumps provide “Just like home” shower pressure, yet can operate at low flow conditions without cycling. A built-in mechanical bypass function enables the pump to vary the flow rate for any demand condition, without the need for an accumulator tank. Motors are heavy-duty, with electro-coated seamless shell, O-ring sealed end bells, and fully sealed wire entries on the motor shell and pressure switch. Inlet strainer and 1/2" hose barb fittings are included. Pumps are ignition protected, thermally protected and can run dry without damage

Comments about Shurflo Aqua King II Freshwater Pump, 5 GPM, 12V:

This is my 2nd one. The 1st replaced a Jabsco variable flow pump. The pressure switch failed on the 1st one & was exchanged under warranty. This one ceases to pump daily & requires tapping on the pressure switch housing to activate pump. Very frustrating as the pump is located below in engine room.

    Service and delivery comments:

Warranty service by West Marine has been great.

Comments about Shurflo Aqua King II Freshwater Pump, 5 GPM, 12V:

I called Shurflo before the purchase to determine whether this unit would replace the failed shurflo pump already on my boat. I was assured it would be a direct fit. Nothing could be further from the reality. Either the mount or the plumbing or both has to be changed in order to connect the unit. I don't understand why shurflo chose to introduce the new model to replace the previous and then designed it to not be compatible with the previous model. Pitiful. I will look for another brand.

Comments about Shurflo Aqua King II Freshwater Pump, 5 GPM, 12V:

Replaced Shurflow 5.7 Smart Sensor which has been discontinued because of problems. When I talked to Shurflow I was assured that this was a quiet pump and would be much more reliable than the Smart Sensor. The pump is old school and uses a mechanical bypass. It is very loud and since it runs at full tilt all the time it cycles on and off to when delivering low flow, which causes the water to pulsate. The Smart sensor allowed me to eliminate the accumulator tank, I believe for this put to function well you will have to add one, or try the Jabsco VSD pumps.

Comments about Shurflo Aqua King II Freshwater Pump, 5 GPM, 12V:

After all the warranty returns on their old variable speed pump I finally decided to give this one a go. The old one was much quieter and smoother operating. This one is noisy, but if it lasts it will be a big improvement. Service from West Marine has always been excellent and immediate on warranty returns.
