Comments about Replacement Screens for SHURflo Raw Water Strainers:

The screen is the correct size and fits well but the solder joint is not as robust as the stainless steel mesh. The joint will usually fail after two seasons if used in salt water. I will be changing to a plastic mesh screen strainer in the future.

Comments about Replacement Screens for SHURflo Raw Water Strainers:

These replacement screens are becoming difficult to obtain, yet they are absolutely essential to prevent damage to my AC system pump, which runs frequently as a dehumidifier when I am not aboard. The bad thing is that they corrode about twice as quickly as the original screen that came with the filter unit. The quality of the stainless is lower, and the welds are not as good.

Comments about Replacement Screens for SHURflo Raw Water Strainers:

We use the small Shurflo filters with 50 mesh stainless screens for our two 18000 btu air conditioning raw water pumps. These screens fall apart after about two to three weeks of use. We have spent far more on the screens than we ever did initially on the filters themselves. The cost is quite high considering the longevity. While we have seen some nylon or plastic screens, we have been unable to locate any with the 50 mesh size.

Comments about Replacement Screens for SHURflo Raw Water Strainers:

while it's new, it's great, but it does not last long at all. Although make out of stainless steel, the welded seam corrodes quickly. I use it to filter raw cooling water for the AC and eventhough it is cleaned every couple of weeks, it needs replacement every month. The replacements have not been consistent in terms of mesh specs. Sometimes they have coarse mesh, fine mesh or double mesh. I would suggest to fabricate these replacement filters out of a non-corrosive material like plastic.
