Had to send the first one back due to a delamination of material and a leak. Second one developed a leak also.
The pump connection was cheap and came undone while inflating
First off the pressure valve works great... I think most people just aren't pumping theirs up enough to see a reading on the gauge. It does take a while to pump up, so I prefer to use my electric pump first and top off the pressure with the supplied manual pump.
When properly inflated, this thing is rock hard... Most can't believe it's inflatable. I'm 190 lbs and have no problem getting around on this; even in choppy water. My friends and I have a blast horseing around it. One sitting up front, me standing, paddling, from the back. So far 2 seasons into it and no issues at all... I did loose the original fin though...my own mistake.
At first I thought the gauge wouldn't work, but after reading about i found out I had to inflate much more to get pressure. The board feels like a rock and gets even more stable and easy to ride after you inflate it correctly.
I was really disappointed with the the 4 tiedowns D-rings, they got rusty pretty quick. I replaced them for stainless steel Keyrings, it works very well.
I bought two of them for my kids since they are comparatively inexpensive and shorter than most paddleboards. They are awesome. Easy to inflate. We leave them inflated and haven't had to add air yet...it's been about a month. They float great. And they are really lightweight so the kids can carry them easily and maneuver them very easily in the water. The only negative is for adults, they are a little flimsy. The weight limit is 175 pounds and I max that out. It floats me easily, but I can feel every ripple that I go over. So I would say, if you don't weigh much and are going to paddle in flat water, it's AWESOME. If you're heavier or are going to take it surfing, probably not the right board. Overall I'm very happy with these boards!
Boys 8 & 11 (50 & 80 pounds), both enjoyed paddling in flat water, and both could be on the board at the same time! Super fun to play on near the beach or paddle in open water.
Pressure gage did not function during inflation, but it was easy to tell how much to inflate. Need to read directions.
This is a great board. Light, responsive and easy to transport. The only reason I've given it 4 instead of 5 stars is that I think the weight range is a little on the high side (I'm 100 lbs, and it's easily manageable, but I'm thinking the limit probably ought to be 140 lbs for the novice rider). Also, the pressure gauge on the included pump doesn't work, so I inflated the board by feel. This might be difficult if you aren't familiar with a SUP.
