Product Description

MATRIX GX2000 has all the same features of the MATRIX GX2150, except AIS functions require an optional AIS receiver to be connected, and the GX2000 does not include listen-back when in PA mode. Both the GX2150 and GX2000 are compliant with 2011 DSC requirements.

MATRIX AIS+ GX2150 will display AIS target information when connected to a GPS and one VHF antenna, so you can be safe from collisions at night or during conditions of poor visibility. Contact the AIS target ship directly using DSC, show your vessel’s position in relation to AIS targets and be alerted when a ship may be approaching. It has a commercial-grade receiver with Class D DSC and a powerful 30W PA/Loud Hailer with preprogrammed fog signals. ClearVoice noise-canceling speaker microphone and 4.5W audio output. Connect the GX2150 to a RAM3 Remote Access Microphone for remote control of all VHF, DSC and hailer functions as well as intercom function.

Has broken every 9 months. Not Splashproof as they claim.

Comments about Standard Horizon MATRIX GX2000 VHF Radio No AIS receiver-Requires external AIS:

I have used this on my 28' RIB boat in San Francisco bay for the last 4 years. I have 2 of these radios and one is always packed up in the office waiting for the other to go bad as it has every 7-9 months since I bought it. I keep sending it back and they keep sending me a rebuilt one but enough is enough. For the price I paid for the 2, I should have bought a much better one. Not impressed with the radio at all.

    Service and delivery comments:

Service was good as they now know me on a first name basis.

Comments about Standard Horizon MATRIX GX2000 VHF Radio No AIS receiver-Requires external AIS:

In retrospect, I should have stepped up to the 2150 with AIS. I think the menu could be easier to navigate also. This is installed on a 30' flybridge, and I added the RAM 3 remote access mike at the lower helm. They work together and they serve as an intercom as well. The hailer works great, all the functions you could want. I would give the whole package 4.5 stars.
