Comments about Stainless-Steel Rub Strakes:

These chafe strips have a good finish and appearance from the "above" view: nice polish, countersunk fastener holes, tapered ends. When you look at them from below, however, they don't work well. First, they don't lie flat on a surface since the tapered ends touch the deck or rail before the rest of the piece. Second, the ends have been ground to a shape that is extremely sharp, and they should have been ground flat. Third, since this is apparently cut from a piece of tubing, the bottom edges are also sharp and would dig into the surface upon which this is mounted.

I really need something that provides protection to my boat's wooden rails, but these are not well finished. Taco is welcome to contact me if they would like more details.

    Comments about Stainless-Steel Rub Strakes:

This rub strake is smooth, suitably heavy stainless and easliy installed with 2-3 screws (not included). Be certain to order screws as oval head ss is not always availble. It simply keeps lines on a smooth surface and this reduces friction to lines and rub rails.
