Sleek and lightweight polarized sunglasses offer 100% protection from damaging UV rays. Glare-free lenses are made of virtually indestructible polycarbonate. Optically correct Typhoon lenses are offered in two colors. Horizon Gray lenses are a good choice for bright, sunny days or large bodies of water filtering out hazardous reflected glare and softening intense light. I bought these sunglasses because they were affordable and polarized. I hadn't thought much about them being shatterproof, however, it was a bonus at the time. While I was out racing this weekend on a lightning, we were in somewhat heavy winds. When rounding the mark, I had trouble with the spinnaker pole. It slipped from my grip and shot back like a bow and arrow directly into my right eye. Thank goodness for these sunglasses! The pole hit the lens and caused a small, almost unnoticeable crack in the plastic. The force was so great against my eye, I have cuts from the lens, however, my eye was preserved with no damage. I would recommend these glasses to anyone! They truely saved my right eye - and I'm very thankful for that.
