Product Description

This power inverter easily operates TV/VCR combinations, microwave ovens, refrigerators and small air conditioners. It also operates at the highest efficiency (up to 90%) for longer running times and extended battery life compared to other less efficient inverters. Superior surge capability, with the highest surge rating in its class, allows the inverter to start most difficult motorized induction loads. Advanced circuitry runs cooler and is more reliable.

        Comments about Inverter:

Bought this unit to use as backup power during power outages. Connected to entire house just for convenience not that the entire house will be run by the inverter at the same time. Just unplug all non essential appliances and run it at about 300-500 watts continuous (for leisure convenience) with the occasional temporary surges for those appliances that require it. (Not to exceed 3000 watts of course). Your unit will stay cool and drainage of battery minimized. I run it with a 500 ah battery bank that can keep my fridge and fans running through the night and let the sun recharge them during the day, plus it always helps to have a generator for those hrs where the hot water heater along with heavy loads are required and the batteries can be recharged while doing so. Great unit guys, glad I bought it.

        Comments about Inverter:

It ran my off grid cabin in Nova Scotia this past summer for about 6 weeks. It ran lights, fridge, table saw, small compressor off of a 260 amp battery bank. The LED dispaly went nuts and I have no idea how many amps it drew (book claims <3 amps in standby) but West Marine gave me no hassle when I brought it in. They just pulled a new one off the shelf and I walked out. Thank you WM
Although it is a modified sine wave inverter I had no trouble with anything, but I don't have a TV and use a laptop for writting and DVDs
It did what I hoped it would, I used my generator less for the high loads and having ice for happy hour was a treat I have never had without a run to the store.

        Service and delivery comments:

West Marine's service was great, no hassle with the exchange and the employee offered some good advice on the hook up.

This has enough power for a tv, microwave, small refrigerator. Practically anything you use out on the water when your away from shore power.
