Used for docking mostly, hooking lines and pushing off. Has great feel, does not mark boat finish.

My issues are that tips fall off easily as well as rubber handle grips. Not sure why west marine does not sell replacements for both .

The main issue are that the twist and lock doesn't work or unreliable after short Time: year or so. Cleaning or flushing does not seem to help.

Hold onto that dock! My boat gets blown around a lot when docking, I like the sturdy one piece design. It also works well for grabbing my crab pot buoys, and you can't beat the price.

I had an extendable hook that got snapped due to an inexperienced friend in strong current. This replaced it and is very sturdy.

Very lite weight and easy to handle. My wife now always has it in her hands when nearing a dock or other boats. I like to think she's trying to be helpful instead of her not trusting my handling of the boat.

Comments about West Marine 6' Non-Telescoping Boat Hook:

The telescoping shaft does not lock securely enough to allow you to push a heavier boat away from the dock.
