Just inside the temp range stated on the label. Waited four hours. Slightly changed the hue of the bottom paint.

Curdled, messy, slow, carcinogens

Comments about West Marine Citrus Marine Paint Remover, 1/2 Gallon:

The contents of this bottle had separated into two layers: a watery label on top and a gooey layer below. Intense shaking didn't really mix it up either. Perhaps the manufacturer could add some kind of emulsifier.

The watery layer has no effect at all in removing paint. I finally poured the whole bottle out into a small plastic tub and used it from there. The goo, which has snot-like consistency, does seem to have the ability to remove paint. But it takes days to remove old, high quality paint.

Meanwhile this stuff seems to want to stick to everything and make a big mess. The labeling about the product containing chemicals known to cause birth defects and other reproductive harm don't make me feel comfortable about getting this on my skin.

Nitrile gloves last about a minute before they fall apart with this.

Comments about West Marine Citrus Marine Paint Remover, 1/2 Gallon:

I purchased this item in a West Marine store for full price and was very hopeful it would help strip the topside paint off my old Whaler. There were 2 layers of topside paint followed by the original gel-coat. I first noticed this product had some goo like material floating around in it so I shook the product before I used it. I applied it very very liberally with a paint brush and let it sit for a few hours. I then used a metal scrapper tool to try and remove the paint...but nothing happened. It was essentially water and did nothing for me at all. I am now using a sander to remove the paint.
I contacted West Marine support and they did not acknowledge me at all.
