Comments about West Marine Dual-Mount Adjustable Transom Bracket:

Purchased the transom bracket to provide greater stability. Easy to attach but doesn't quite fit my trailer properly. I broke the trailer end of the brace after a long haul, but probably more my fault from too much downward trim.

Decent but Rubber Bumpers Need Help

Comments about West Marine Dual-Mount Adjustable Transom Bracket:

Decent product, does what its intended for but as with other reviews the rubber bumpers for lower unit protection don't last. As well, I will be drilling out the original rivets and replacing the rubber bumpers, but using nylon instead of rubber. The main issue is the rubber wants to stick to the motor and I believe is what wears it out when taking on and off.

Trailer bolt on adapter - swap pins

Comments about West Marine Dual-Mount Adjustable Transom Bracket:

When using the bolt on adapter, swap the 2 pins shown in the instruction. Bottom retaining pin is very hard to remove from the adapter & support pole. Use the small flip finger pin to lock in the length of the pole and use the larger solid retaining pin to attached pole to the bolt on adapter.

Comments about West Marine Dual-Mount Adjustable Transom Bracket:

Works as advertised. Motor rode great on 1300 mile round trip to Florida Keys. Was able to permanently install on trailer frame. Removes/reinstalls quickly when unloading/loading boat. Unfortunately, rubber shock absorbers deteriorated in less than 2 seasons. Could not locate replacement parts. Drilled out rivets holding shock absorbers in place. Basically, it is a 1-1/8" solid rubber ball with a flat side. Purchased stainless steel bolts, nuts, and rubber stoppers from hardware department at [...] for less than $8. Drilled hole in rubber stoppers to mount to support bracket. Used bench grinder to "modify" length of stoppers to conform to desired length. Less than 30 minute job. Looks like new.

Product is fine but have tried for days to fine a
broken part for it. The U shape end of it broke
and I have tried everywhere on the Enternet to order the broken end and cannot locate one. Please advise if part can be purchased and where.. Tks

Bracket attaching to motor fractures at the "Y". I have had 3 of these break in same spot. Going for cheaper version next time - "quick learner"!
