Pros

  • Better than standard equipment

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Long distance towing

Comments about West Marine Dual-Mount Transom Bracket:

Better than expected, when I found that this transom bracket had a built-in rubber shock to ease movement if the trailer or motor moves suddenly. It fits my trailer and motor great, and is easy to use.

Comments about West Marine Dual-Mount Transom Bracket:

After hard and extensive use the "V" breaks down and no longer supports the motor. This can be fixed with a thru bolt and large washers to hold it together. The rubber bumpers also compress. You can not order replacement parts.

I've had my dule mount for 5 years now with no problems and the way I fixed the leaning left or right problem was I bought two eye lit bolts two self locking nuts and two flat washers drilled two holes in the rear cross member of the trailer and installed them and mounted the lower drive to the transom saver mount then I used two bungees just like the one that comes with it take one bungee from one eye lit around the back of the lower drive { above the cavitation plate } to the other eye lit

This product is not built very well. The plastic support that holds the motor is not strong enough and the motor flops to one side. I wish I would have bought one that was strong enough to hold the motor straight up.

Comments about West Marine Dual-Mount Transom Bracket:

I am disappointed with this product as the motor will just flop to the side (will not support in an upright & striaght manner), and I am concerned the rubber will just break off. I just have a 15hp motor and it won't even hold that up correctly. I am going to shop for another support and have wasted money on this product...
