Product Description

The latest EPA regulations for portable fuel systems, engineered to reduce evaporative emissions, require a new system approach to fuel delivery to ensure your boat’s safety and performance. EPA-compliant portable marine fuel tanks are now sealed and, unable to vent to the atmosphere as in the past, can cause fuel vapor pressure to build up in the tank. Pressurized fuel can readily lead to engine flooding and make even routine connection and disconnection of fuel fittings potentially dangerous. To eliminate these problems, these low-permeation fuel line assemblies feature a sprayless tank connection to eliminate fuel spray from tank pressure and an in-line Fuel Demand Valve to prevent pressurized fuel from flooding the engine. Multi-layer low-permeation primer bulb offers increased draw, remaining fully flexible in the cold of winter and resisting collapse in the heat of summer. High-strength fiber-reinforced hose is fully compatible with ethanol blended fuels, secured with stepless, 360° stainless steel hose clamps. Two-year warranty.

If you like the smell of fuel and don't mind it being leaked everywhere instead of used to power your boat, then buy this West Marine Only fuel system. Both male tank fittings, 1 from the kit and 1 purchased separately, have developed leaks out the end of the fitting. Not the sealing O-ring outside, but where the little ball inside the fitting is supposed to seal it off when the mating connector is not attached. Lost a 1/4 of a 6 gal tank this weekend all over the bed of my truck while transporting the tank to the lake. Lost who knows how much last year from my onboard permanent tank into my motor well and then into the water when the fitting for that began to leak. This cheap plastic system is not worth your money and will only end up costing you in leaked fuel and possible fines.
