Comments about Professional Oil Changer, 12V Bucket:

I've changed the oil in my boats and pwc's for years using the small/cheap pump that you attach to the end of a drill. Well, after getting tired of needing an extra set of hands and tired of spilling oil if I slightly move too fast when pumping, I decided to upgrade to this unit. I've used similar ones at a prior job and all i can say is it is worth almost every penny (I think it may be a bit overpriced but isn't everything these days?)! If you don't mind flinging oil, waiting for your cheap drill pump to prime and have 4 hands to help, then don't buy this unit. But if you like a simple setup, ease of use and fast pump out, well… Buy this!

Comments about Professional Oil Changer, 12V Bucket:

I have purchased cheaper oil extraction pumps in the past ($30 range) and have been disappointed with their performance and quality. After spilling oil during my last oil change I decided to bite the bullet and buy this machine. I have used it to change crankcase oil and transmission fluid on four boats and am very happy with the product. The product could use a better way to switch from dipstick extraction (small hose) to garden hose adapter (big hose). Currently you have to remove garden hose fitting to use dipstick extraction tube. Not a deal killer and certainly not hard to find a solution that will work for you. If you're thinking of buying a cheap oil extractor don't do it. Spend the extra money on this one. You'll be much happier.

Comments about Professional Oil Changer, 12V Bucket:

This item is not as at appears in the catalog. The handle is not attached to the lid with hog rings, as is shown in the picture, like the Jabsco pump. There is a hook that is supposed to clip to the bucket handle, this method does not work well. The unit is unbalanced when carrying. Also, the only position that the hook clips in properly, does not allow oil to pour out easily, it makes for a messy pour. The description also states that the unit is fully assembled, not true. I should have spent the extra few dollars and purchased the Jabsco.
