About Me Perfectionist

Pros

  • Excellent gloss
  • Repels water

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Long dry time, needed sanding of raised grain
  • Only available in quarts, need gallons

Best Uses

  • Wood surfaces

Comments about West Marine WoodPro Plus:

I use it for indoor and outdoor furniture finishes, it is quite expensive and only available in quarts. Some of my projects have required more than one gallon to reach 6 coats, so it gets expensive. Have noticed consistency issues between cans, some dry properly per stated time, others took longer and remained tacky after 24 hours.

    Good but not like varnish

Comments about West Marine WoodPro Plus:

Great for getting multiple decent looking protective coats on exterior wood; dries quickly. But not the same quality finish that several coats of a good varnish would give.

Overall, I'm satisfied but will stay with traditional varnish whenever working conditions and weather permit.
