Shook can for a full 3 minutes after hearing the ball. Pressed on the spray head and entire contents discharged from under the head, never passing through the nozzle. Thought it was a fluke so bought another can and the same thing happened. If they are going to charge over $40 for a can of paint, it ought to at least operate as good as a $6 can of rustoleum

For years I wire-brushed and repainted outdrive every spring with Volvo gray on zinc chromate primer, and it peeled off by the end of the season. Yard mechanic recommended Trilux 33 in gray. This time, I used Interprotect 2000E for primer. At the end of the season, there was very little peeling, not much slime growth and the outdrive powerwashed well in the fall. This Spring, I'll just wipe it down and add another can for another season. Only downside is the dull gray doesn't match the VP shiny gray; but it works, so I'll use it again this year.

Comments about Trilux 33 Antifouling Paint:

Used on a Volvo Penta outdrive. The outdrive has been rebuilt (new skeg) and required repainting. I used to use the Volvo OEM paint, but it always blistered and peeled - requiring repainting every season. I painted with this product 3 years ago and this is the first time I need to touchup. Excellent performance in fresh water.

I have used this product for years and this year we had high salinity water and the outdrive was attacked by barnacles. Horrible performance. Never again!

After pulling the boat out of the water last season, I noticed just as many barnacles as I had with the regular stern drive paint. Not worth the time and money.

applied to prop and running gear, we where applying new bottow paint to the bottom at the same time. when we pulled the boat 9 months later.. the bottow was very clean the prop had 1 inch of barnacles on it. almost didn't make it to the lift to have it pulled.

Comments about Trilux 33 Antifouling Paint:

Used this product on a 9.9hp outboard that could not be lifted out of the water due to the configuration of the sailboat motor well. By eight weeks after launch in Narragansett Bay, RI, there were so many barnacles on the lower unit that the water intake ports were clogged and the prop exhaust vents were plugged. No apparent antifouling at all. Could not even use the outboard to get back to the marina under power. It took hours of work to clean up the lower unit. Product assessment: Fail.

Comments about Trilux 33 Antifouling Paint:

Have tried Primocon and Trilux 33 for a few years on my outdrive. It applies great, dries fast, and leaves an excellent finish. However, it doesn't appear to be effective at preventing bottom growth. I boat in Chesapeake Bay region and continually experience heavy barnacle build up that must be scraped about every month during the boating season. Going to try something different this year.
