Comments about Automatic Submersible Bilge Pumps:

Pump works but float is useless... Brand new, doesn't work unless I physically move it and then doesn't turn pump off when moved back to " no water" position. This is completely useless without Floyd working which would be the point of buying this model. I should have listened to other reviews. A complete waste of time and money.

Comments about Johnson Pump Automatic Submersible Bilge Pumps:

The switch never worked, so the pump was useless. Took it back to west marine and they refused to give me a credit note for it. I did not have the receipt, but it was obvious from the condition of the pump that it was brand new. I bought another brand, with separate switch and it worker first time and is still working. I won't be shopping at WM again!

The auto switch did not work. Had the mechanic pull the one off the old pump to save another trip (and bill) from the dealer.

Comments about Automatic Submersible Bilge Pumps:

I had heard good things about Johnson pumps so I purchased the 500 gph model. It has some clever features and installed easily and worked fine for three days. The problem was that the float switch would repeatedly stick in either the up or the down position, meaning the battery would run down or the boat would flood. Neither was acceptable to me so I returned it as defective.

Comments about Automatic Submersible Bilge Pumps:

The product seems well made. However, the rate of discharge is very disappointing;even though, fittings are tight and discharge hose is per specs with no dips.
Mounting holes are partially hidden by housing so straight down installation through a tight access was a real struggle if not almost impossible.
