Shop Interlux Boat Paints
For over 100 years, Interlux products have helped to protect, beautify and improve the performance of all types of boats. At West Marine, Interlux products include marine paints for above- and below-the-waterline application. Interlux boat paints and solvents include Interlux antifouling paint, bilge paint, flattening agents, non-skid deck paint, marine primers, paint thinners and solvents and several varieties of topside paint.
Interlux Antifouling Paints
Interlux antifouling paints include hard epoxy and ablative formulations. Integral to many of these paints is Interlux Biolux, which is an exclusive Interlux technology for keeping the bottoms of boats clean by eliminating the collection of slime. While most of these paints are solvent based and utilize cuprous oxide as their primary biocide, options also include water-based, low-VOC and copper-free formulations some of which use ECONEA as their primary biocide to soften their impact on the environment and meet local environmental regulations.
Interlux Aluminum-Safe Antifouling Paints
To keep aluminum hulls and outdrives free of marine fouling, Interlux offers several antifouling options that, because they do not contain cuprous oxide, will not cause galvanic corrosion. Examples include their Trilux 33, which uses cuprous thiocyanate to control hard fouling and Biolux technology to control slime and algae growth. Options also include their Pacifica Plus Bottom Paint, which instead of cuprous oxide, uses copper-free Econea to prevent hard fouling and Biolux® technology to control slime.
Interlux Topside Paints
When it comes to topside finishes, Interlux provides West Marine customers with a complete range of options. These include traditional alkyd enamels, one-part polyurethanes and two-part polyurethanes. Examples include Interlux Premium Yacht Enamel (a traditional alkyd enamel), Interlux Brightside (a one-part polyurethane) and Interlux Perfection, which is a two-part polyurethane, that unlike many other two-part paints (which require professional application) can be applied by novices with excellent results.
Other Interlux Products
To complement Interlux topcoats and antifouling paints, West Marine offers Interlux thinners and reducers that can be used to thin or otherwise alter the properties of their paints. Other products include dewaxing solvents that are used to remove the mold release wax from gelcoat, paint strippers, bilge paint, flattening agents, non-skid deck paint and barrier coat epoxy.
