Get powerful optics with unmatched image stability!

These image-stabilized marine binoculars are designed specifically to give boaters and outdoor enthusiasts an ultra-steady view, no matter what the conditions. The 14 x 40 model features dual modes-the LAND mode eliminates shake and vibration, while the ONBOARD mode eliminates the effect of roll, which is especially useful on boats. Comments about Nikon Stabileyes 14 X 40 Binoculars, 230' @ 1000yd. Field Of View, 13mm Relief, 7 5/16" 13/16" 3/8", 47.3oz.:

These binoculars are not "waterproof" The battery unit rests on the outside of the unit and internally corroded to the point the AA battery clips dropped out in less than 2 years. This occurred while these binoculars were turned off & sitting in a drawer of the main cabin of an air conditioned 42ft boat. Other cameras & flashlights in the same drawer had no corrosion problems at all. The battery unit is a 3"x3" plastic shell with cheap clips to hold the 4 AA batteries in place instead of springs. Two clips of these 4 battery clips were corroded and not broken, but would not even hold the batteries in place. These cheap clips also break off if you try to fix this problem. Nikon refused to even deal with these obvious problems unless I sent the entire binocular back to them and paid $219 plus shipping IN ADVANCE of the repair, even though I only just want a replacement battery compartment. In other words they don't stock parts for this camera. BEWARE! Don't waste your money.
