Product Description

With increased capacity, these refrigerators give you the ability to store more food in the same amount of space occupied by previous generation models. Equipped with Danfoss BD35 compressors, they offer better-than-ever performance at higher ambient temperatures. For example, when the mercury hits 90°F, food remains frozen at 10°F while the refrigeration compartment keeps food at 33.5°F. Because they fit into the same cutout as previous generation models (the DE-0751), these refrigerators are a logical choice as a retrofit. Installation is eased by the self-venting design, which does not require extra venting inside the enclosure. The 3.0cu.ft. model boasts separate refrigerator and freezer compartments, with two shelves and two door bins. Additional improvements include proud- and flush-mount capability (standard with each unit), new door with positive locking latch, no visible fasteners in the front and new cool blue LED interior light. Fit into cutout of previous generation DE-0740 models.

Comments about Universal Voltage Marine Refrigerator, Black, 3 Cubic ft.:

I bought this because my DE751BB fridge that came with the boat died. They advertise this as an easy replacement since it fits the same cut out (supposedly). I searched for install instruction on line to no avail so I went ahead and bought it. First thing I discovered is that the old model had screws through the face flange which held the unit tight agains the bulkhead it was mounted in. The new unit has mounting screw holes about an inch deep into the storage area which require screws to go out to the sides behind the bulkhead that is cut out. I had to build up some blocking inside the cabinet space to accommodate this.

After I easily removed the original factory installed unit, I tried to slide the new unit into the existing cut out and the hole was almost an 1/8" too small. So much for same size cut out! Once the new fridge is in all the way, there is a gaping hole at the bottom of the cut out.

The location of this fridge is low, below a dinette seat. The old model had the temperature setting dial on the front near the top which was easy to get at. The new one has it located way in the back corner of the inside of the fridge. If your location is low, plan on laying on the floor to reach/view the setting knob. That is, after you remove all of the contents to get to the dial.

Had I known then what I know now, I would have explored other options for the replacement fridge. This is NOT a drop in replacement!

The refridgerator is great but my complaint is that we should have been told the power cord did not come with it..it is not very obvious in the catalog page..we had to have the cord overnighted so we could get to our vacation destination since we reserved a slip to arrive on a certain date..the old model fridge cord could not be used since it was hard wired in. Please make cord purchase a highlighted area on line or your catalog.

Comments about Universal Voltage Marine Refrigerator, Black, 3 Cubic ft.:

This is a marine dual voltage fridge/freezer where the quietness is emphasized in the promotion materials. Despite adding the best insulation around it, it vibrates incredibly and is so noisy it can not be used. After less than one year, it's disappointing that the two year limited warranty means that I have to call the factory for warranty rather than have WM just step up and replace it.

The refrigerator came with a 12 volt plug to direct wire that's fine. It did not come with an ac cord and no one at WM told me when I ordered it from the store. Not sure why they would sell a power cord as a 37 dollar accessory.
