PETTIT MARINE PAINT
Hydrocoat® ECO Ablative Antifouling Paints

Combining the highest level of metal-free ECONEA® biocide available with the slime fighter Irgarol, Pettit Marine Paint's Hydrocoat® ECO Ablative Antifouling Paint delivers multi-season protection in all marine environments. Application and cleanup are made easier by the water-based, low VOC formula that lacks the heavy solvent smell associated with solvent-based paints. Because the copolymer ablative formula releases biocide at a controlled rate as it wears away with use, paint buildup is eliminated, along with the need for sanding between coats. Copper-free, compatible over most bottom paints and safe for use on all substrates—including steel and aluminum. Hydrocoat ECO will not lose effectiveness when removed from the water, so you can paint in the fall and launch in the spring.

  • Type: Water-based copolymer ablative
  • Recommended Usage: All fouling waters
  • Biocide: 6.0% ECONEA®
  • Additives: 4.8% Zinc Pyrithione
  • Number of Coats Recommended: 2-3
  • Coverage: 430sq.ft./gal.
  • Drying Time: To overcoat: 3 hrs.: To launch: 16hrs. @ 70°F
  • Thinner: Water

Comments about Hydrocoat ECO Ablative Antifouling Paints:

Very good antifoulant paint that stands up well and retards hard and soft growth. It is more expensive though than some other ablative bottom paints.
