Comments about Wireless Remote Control 12V DC Trailer Winches:

I have the rc 30 on two boats ande bought both of them at the same time. I am in my 60s and need help winching my boats in. However, remote works sporadically on both winches. Only have used winches 3 to 4 times each summer and now on 23 ft boat, the rc30 has broken gears and spring came loose not allowing winch to move. ordered another one last week, now have second thoughts. wold never recommend this trailer winch to anyone.

Comments about Wireless Remote Control 12V DC Trailer Winches:

I used this winch for 2 years and it had some problums with the remote, had to stop and start the winch to get the boat onto the trailer. the other day i was getting the boat ( 23ft )ready for launch and while i was on the deck the winch came on by itself and was pulling the boat in while it was still on the trailer, I jumped off the boat and unplugged it. thinking the cluch would have reached its limit , we where able to launch the boat and went out for a great day on the water, Then we tryed to get the boat back on the trailer and found out the winch wouldnt work , The gears had broken teeth which I found out later, I call power winch on the phone and was told that they DONT sell just the gears and you have to buy the whole assmebly for each gear and shaft, the price for them was 200. plus shipping. For that price I can go buy another winch and am sure it be a better one or one that you can get just the parts you need to repair it. PS just came to mind , what if the cable snapped when the winch came on by itself and had reached its limit. something inside the winch must have shorted out for this to happen.

Comments about Wireless Remote Control 12V DC Trailer Winches:

I bought the RC23 a little over 2 years ago. I only use my trailer 5 or 6 times a year as my boat 'lives' on a lift most of the time. This product is worthless! The first one broke the second time used. A friend managed to fix it for me as i didn't have time to get another, etc. Short lived fix. Unfortunately, THINKING I had just gotten a 'lemon' one, i dumbly purchased a second of the same product. 5 uses and it's broken too. I had always heard Powerwinch was a good solid product. NO MORE!! Too bad.

Comments about Wireless Remote Control 12V DC Trailer Winches:

I had a 912 powerwinch since 1987 and never had a problem with it except changing the clutch washers evry 3-4 years. Sold it with my previous 22 ft boat with roller trailer. Winched the boat everytime without fail the entire length of the trailor. Super low tide or super high tide it worked.Bought the RC 30 for a new 25 ft Bluewater Center Console on a float-on trailer. I am only winching the boat 4-6 ft. What a mistake purchasing this winch. Remote failed the first time I used it and the overide worked once. Don't buy this product it is nothing but a waist of money. I am going back to a 912.Powerwinch should go back to the drawing board.

I have been using Power winches for almost forty years they were the standard of the industry and this company has reduced there product to very low quality. Cheaply made the screws are always falling out and requires constant attention.

Comments about Wireless Remote Control 12V DC Trailer Winches:

I have owned this product since June of 2010. I've had nothing but trouble with it from the beginning. One thing after another. The remote never worked. The hand crank stripped. It often pulls my boat half way out of the water and then stops, and has to be hand cranked the rest of the way (my boat is 2000 lbs and should easily be pulled by this winch.) I dropped the ball on doing anything under warranty as when it would happen i was on vacation or getting the boat out due to a hurricane or whatever, and life would go on, and I let the warranty period slip by. That was my fault, but doesn't change the fact that this has been a bad product for me. I passed up buying cheaper brands due to other people's advice who said buy a Powerwinch. I threw away [$].
