AS with both Rule float switches that I replaced, this one worked for only a month before the ball stopped rolling smoothly enough to make contact. I assumed it oxidized enough not roll on its own. If I lift the switch above the shower sump cover, it will work but that makes it useless for keeping the bilge from filling with shower water. This switch was located in a shower sump that does NOT receive AC condensate so it got litlle use. The other switch was in a complete shower sump assembly with AC condensate and worked for 6-7 months before it stopped working altogether. I think I'll try a cheaper switch as they seem to work as well.

      Comments about Super Switch:

I installed this switch on a rule pump in August 2015 and it was malfunctioning in May 2016. I bought this looking for a better quality switch that would last so I wouldn't have to replace switches every year or two. The boat was only in the water for three months before the switch failed. It has a five year warranty so I returned it for a new one but I will hold it as a new spare. I expected more out of an expensive switch.

            Comments about Super Switch:

Failed after 15 months leaving rainwater in the bilge. Thankfully I check the boat often or there could have been a bigger problem. Rule, get a clue, a critical component like this should last longer. I am looking for alternatives.

            Comments about Super Switch:

Switch failed within 15 months of installation.
Product is a poor design to fail that soon.
however, has a 5 year warranty.
West Marine customer service was excellent. They looked up my purchase history, saw when I purchased it, and gave me a free replacement on the spot.

                Comments about Super Switch:

This very important switch failed after a few weeks of easy use. Could have overheated the bilge pump as would not shut off in a dry bilge. Should get NO stars, not one.

Comments about Rule Industries Super Switch:

I have replaced both of the Super Switches (they had lasted for over 7 years) in our bilge two times each in the last two years with the same switch. The last time, they worked for two weeks and then were done. It was at that point that I noticed the common thread of poor reviews at every place I could look for the Rule Super Switch. Hope there is something better.

Comments about Rule Industries Super Switch:

This product has failed repeatedly. The switch sticks in the on position even with the float all the way down. I just recieved a call while out-of-town, bilge alarm on, another failed switch.

I don't want to hear how sorry the manufacturer is, fix your design flaw.

                        • Bilge Pump

Comments about Rule Industries Super Switch:

I use this for an automatic bilge pump. This switch has been replaced in Sep 2010, Oct 2011 and April 2013. It's April 2014 and the switch has failed again. Typically, the float paddle moves freely but the circuit does not open when the bilge is dry. It has caused one pump to fail. If I can't find an alternative, all I can do is hope it doesn't fail when my bilge needs pumping. At least there is a 5 year warranty which would be little consolation if your boat sank.
