Comments about Tournament Series Livewell Pumps:

They last me 3 months of daily use. No overnight running. Guy at West Marine told me Rule builds these to last 1500 hours of running operation. For me, that's 3 months before I start over again. It starts with losing a baitwell full of pilchards and burying my charters until I can get it replaced. Horrible situation. That pump gets so hot it is scary. My boat has an 11" lift from the strainer-shutoff-pump and a 3.5' rise to the outlet, plumbed properly. Tournament is the wrong name for this product. Temporary is more appropriate

Comments about Tournament Series Livewell Pumps:

I own and operate T&M Live Bait in Miami,Fla and run my pump constantly to feed 126 gallons in live wells. I am on my forth pump in a year. The first one had a broken shaft, the second one just got hot and quite while supplying water to 400 pilchards. The third one barely put out any water flow. West Marine has replaced them no questions asked. I will not but another one. The pump only puts out 1200 to 1600 gph based on the elevation of the tank above the pump in water flow that it claims at 13.6 volts not 12 volts. At 12 volts it puts out 750 gph. Not the product from rule industries that I expected.

Best Livewell pump I've ever used. Don't have to think about when it works, and it works, period. Bait are frisky and fresh and provides topnotch water flow.

Comments about Tournament Series Livewell Pumps:

Here's my follow up review. I have two of these pumps on my boat. Like a fool I bought another one. I thought maybe this was a fluke, wrong answer. No fluke it's junk. Last week I noticed that one of the pumps has a large hole on the top of it. The other one is starting to get pits all over the plastic body. Very disappointed with these Rule bait pumps. As long as West Marine will replace them I will keep using them but when the replacements stop I'm going to buy a Shurflo 2000. Don't waste your money on this pump.

Comments about Tournament Series Livewell Pumps:

I bought this pump thinking that I was buying a top of the line bait pump. I installed this pump in September of 2013. We were just finishing up a major reconditioning project on a 32 Luhrs sportfisher model. We installed a 95 gallon offshore bait tank and wanted to pair it up with a good pump. We made three 24 hour trips with this pump. Well this last weekend I was in the bilge changing the demand pump for the fresh water when I noticed that the bait pump had several little holes in the plastic housing. I removed the pump to further inspect it. I found numerous holes that looked like there had been air pockets in the plastic when it was made. Also found numerous cracks in the pump housing. Although it was still functioning properly I returned it to West Marine where they gave me a new one. Will update my comments as time goes by on the replacement pump. I'm hoping that it was an isolated incident and the new pump won't have the same issues. At this time I wouldn't recommend it to a friend until I know if the new one does not do the same thing. I'm a bit concerned because of the only other review I could find also had some cracking issues in the housing.

Comments about Tournament Series Livewell Pumps:

The pump works OK but the housing cracked above one of the base plate mounting holes and now it leaks after only about 250 hours of use.Shining a light into the pump shows that at that spot the housing has a void in the plastic. I thought that by buying the higher priced pump I would get quality. Not so.Purchased about 2 years ago from West Marine
