I have purchased Amsteel from multiple stores without any problem. It's incredibly strong, lightweight, and easy to splice. I ordered different lengths of black, green, and red from West Marine. When eye splicing, I noticed that the coloring dye was coming off on my hands. When I put the line on my boat, the dye immediately began to bleed off as soon as the line got wet in freshwater. Now I have red, black, and green stains on my deck, hull, and sails! What use is a marine product that is not waterproof and stains everything that it comes into contact with? Avoid the dyed versions of Amsteel at all cost.

Comments about AmSteel Blue Dyneema SK 75 Single Braid:

Although designed for the marine industry, this product has developed a very large presence in the camping industry. Whoopie slings, soft shackles and continuous loops are just a few camping uses for this size Amsteel (7/64). I like it and will continue to use it.

I was new to splicing, but splicing this was a breeze. I ended up replacing my meathook lifelines with it and was by far cheaper and faster than ordering the metal lines again. I loved it so much I began using it to shorten my vang, then my mainsheet........what's next??? It looks so great that I noticed my neighbors were starting to do the same.

Comments about Samson Rope 3/16" Amsteel-blue As-78, 5400lb. Breaking Strength, Red:

Not only is AmSteel extemely strong for the weight, it was incredibly easy to splice. With the ability to easily splice the rope, it makes it easier to utilize AmSteel in many ways. Running rigging, standing rigging, and lifeline replacement are very easy to do with the appropriatly chosen AmSteel line.
