SHIELDS RUBBER Series 148 Multi-Purpose Vinyl Hose

Extra-heavy, smooth-walled, all-vinyl hose for sanitation system connections (head intake, head to holding tank, holding tank discharge and pump-out). Excellent for critical bilge, drain, scupper line and potable water fill applications. FDA-approved low water-absorption compounds have excellent resistance to odor permeation and toilet chemicals. Reinforced with hard vinyl helix for good bend radius, vacuum rating and corrosion protection. Smooth cover permits clamping without cuffs. Do not use in pressurized water systems. Sold per foot; 50' maximum continuous length.

    Replaced my old Lectra San unit and all of the old hoses with this. It was stiff, but slid onto fittings fairly easily, so the job went pretty quickly. Looks (and smells) a lot better! We'll see how long it lasts.

            This hose looks great, but very difficult to install and it crack over time. I would not use it below the water line. You might just forget to shut your thru hull valve some day and you dont want to have toilet hose sink your boat. Use the rubber metal inforced hose for below water line. Great for things like toilet to the tank, or tank to the deck fitting.
