    Comments about Macerator Pump:

First one overheated and melted the impeller. Didn't last a month into the season last year. The second one was used lightly, meaning never switched on for more than 1 minute at a time.
The one time I forgot to switch it off and let it run for 3 minutes it has done the same.
Can't believe these products are advertised as run dry etc. Yes both were just out of warranty in terms of purchase date, but less than two hours equivalent run time between them!
Will not be replacing with another of the same.

    Comments about Macerator Pump:

I purchased the pump to replace the one that came with the boat. It fit perfectly since it was an exact replacement for the one installed at the factory.

      Comments about Macerator Pump:

I am confused!! I bought my boat 6 years ago and have used my macerator quite a bit. It was used quite a bit before me. I had never had any problems with it until last fall when the impeller started slipping. That's about 10 years of use with this ShurFlo macerator. I like mine so much, I am buying another and rebuilding the one I have. Why is it that I don't have the problems these others have?

      Comments about Shurflo Macerator Pump:

One worked Ok except when small pieces of mono got around the blade. The new one's motor died after one trip! The pump is worth about $14.99, definetely not $149!!!!!!!!

      Comments about Shurflo Macerator Pump:

Not a heavy-duty pump, as advertised. Basically, light-duty unit that fails after about 12 months. And at $150 a pop, it's expensive.

      By Gary

      from Undisclosed

      Comments about Shurflo Macerator Pump:

I have a bass boat with a bilge pump located under the gas tank and deck. Since the pump is always getting jammed and they never last long, I got tired of pulling the tank to change or clean the pump. I replaced the last one with this unit two years ago and have had no trouble. Since the pump is located above the tank, I can get to it easily if I need to. It handles leaves and mud without clogging like a regular bilge pump would. The earlier comment about durability does not seem to be a problem in fresh water. My only complaint is that this unit makes more noise than I'd like.
