My wife bought a pair of these recently and I borrowed them from her so many times she made be go get my own pair. These fit great with above and below the knee sinches. They are soft and pliable on the back of your leg even when you are curled up in a ball on the bottom of your El Toro in light air. The pads on the front are just the right amount of padding to keep your knees out of pain when you have to be on them for long downwind runs. I've tried the Gil pads, but they shift and cut into the back of my legs. The sleeve pads are nice but don't provided enough knee padding and tend to wear through rather quickly. These Spinlock kneepads are the best I've found and worth the little extra money.

Ripped right-away

Great fit, good looking , but poor choice of materials for the knee area. Race an Opti, and on the second use the fabric has ripped! [...]

      Comments about Kneepads:

These knee pads are improved from the prior version. Although the overall size is bigger, the padding is more durable and protective. I hope they last longer than my last pair (had them for years).

              Comments about Kneepads:

These are slip-on, not velcro. They might work great with shorts, but are too bulky to be used under pants, and too snug to fit over them. I was looking for one product to use in all seasons, so I had to return them.

                Comments about Kneepads:

Very well designed, does not ride up on knee. As the pictures show, the bottom half of the kneepad is decoupled from the top, so as your knee moves, it does not push the pad down your leg. Note the elastic strap on the side, and the flexible mesh at the to of the kneecaps. Stays firmly over the knee, all without really tightly fitting elastic. Also a circle of protective foam around the patella. Not very bulky foam, probably quarter inch -so if thick is what you want, look elsewhere. Nice abrasion resistant pad covers.

I'm on my third season sailing with these knee pads on a Sabot with my young skipper. The pads always stay in place and protect my knees while sailing. Being 6'2" on the tiny Sabot I'm always on my knees. I highly recommend them.
