About the Minnetonka Store

Minnetonka is home to the largest lake in the Minneapolis metropolitan area. Lake Minnetonka’s system of kettle lakes, islands, bays and channels makes it a popular destination for boaters, sailors, anglers and paddlers. West Marine Minnetonka is the area’s trusted marine supply store with a complete selection of engine parts, boating supplies, safety gear and more.

Boating

With 125 miles of shoreline to explore, Lake Minnetonka offers plenty of boating opportunities like water skiing, wakeboarding, cruising, tubing or just plain relaxing. Boaters can also count on West Marine for winterizing essentials in the fall and for what they need to launch their boats in the spring. We offer a full assortment of maintenance and cleaning products, plumbing, electrical and other boat parts.

Sailing

There’s a long legacy of sailing on Lake Minnetonka. Minnetonka Yacht Club has hosted sailors since 1882 and is the birthplace of the racing scow. Lake Waconia, the second largest lake in the greater Minneapolis area, is seasonally windy and also a popular spot for sailors. We specialize in top-rated sailing gear, rigging, foul weather gear and sailing apparel.

Fishing

Legend has it that sturgeon grow bigger than 10 feet long in Lake Minnetonka. The lake is also home to many other desirable freshwater species like crappie and sunfish. Anglers looking for walleye action head north to Mille Lacs Lake, the state’s second largest lake. Fishermen rely on West Marine for the best fishing gear, tackle, rods and reels.

Paddling and Kayaking

The calm waters found within its bays make Lake Minnetonka a desirable place to explore on a stand-up paddleboard or kayak. Minnehaha Creek, a tributary to the lake, offers 22 miles of paddle-worthy waters through serene woodlands. Let us outfit your next paddling adventure with the right gear.
