Comments about Taylor Made 3/4-round Gunnel Guard, 1-1/2" Diameter, Sold Per Foot Up To 50':

This makes the rail of a rigid dingy, or small whaler easier on the boats it comes along side of. The synthetic canvas cover is also good for using on the tops of dock floats instead of a roller to ease a dingy out of the water. A little more friction than a roller, but doesn't need lubrication!

It does take lots of screws to attach.

      Comments about Gunnel Guards:

Just purchased and installed a 20' piece of this on the gunwale of my Dyer "[*]" dinghy (7'-11" length). I attached it using 100 #6 self-tapping 1/2 inch stainless steel screws as recommended by Dyer. It fit perfectly with the two ends meeting at the center of the stern. I can't comment on durability yet but it looks nice and looks like it'll be a perfect gunwale guard for a light rigid dinghy. At [$] for 20 feet of material the price couldn't be beat.

A nice finish for my homemade hard dink. I bought it to protect the gunwhale of the dink and the stern of my sailboat. Looks real good, feels rugged.

            Comments about Gunnel Guards:

When I built my little plywood and epoxy dinghy I didn't want to spend the[$] for a proper rubrail and my sailboat suffered from it. After a year I found this product on sale and installed it and my sailboat is now happy again. My advice, spend the money up front and avoid the scratches and paint streaks. This stuff ought to last forever.
