DANFORTH
Standard Anchors

Every angle on a Danforth anchor contributes to its performance. A 32° shank angle is assured, as the shank comes to rest on reinforcing yokes inside the angled crown plates. The inward sloping crown forces its thin, sharp flukes into the bottom, while I-beam fluke construction provides extra safety with its strength and durability. Excellent holding in sand or sand/mud bottoms, but limited or no holding in grassy, rocky, or clay bottoms. Stows flat. Steel anchors featuring hot-dipped galvanized finish.

  • Style: Pivoting fluke
  • Material: Galvanized steel
  • Application: Sand or sand/mud bottoms
  • Pros: Lightweight flukes, good holding power, economical price
  • Cons: Less effective on rocky, grassy or clay bottoms
  • Warranty: Lifetime limited

I really enjoy this particular anchor and does hold my 24 foot Bay boat(Skeeter) quite well in all types of bottom conditions.

        Comments about Standard Anchors:

Anchor is used on a 40ft. charter fishing boat. Bottom fishing is the primary mode. Anchor holds well on hard shell or sandy bottoms, even in moderate wind conditions
