            Comments about Ratchet Transom Tiedowns:

My new boat came with these straps, ratchet turned loose 5 miles down the road. They continue to come loose. The ratchet is not very durable, and seems like it will bend easy if you try to tighten them down. These are light duty straps at the most.

                Comments about Ratchet Transom Tiedowns:

I needed a new set of transom tie downs for my 23 foot wakeboard boat last fall. The rep at the store recommended these. I installed them before I winterized. Immediately upon first install the ratchet lever bent under moderate torque. The straps seem too thin and weak too. I was able to get decent tension for storage over the winter, but the first time I took the boat out this past spring, the lever bent really bad when I went to install it at the end of the day. So much so that I couldn't get the ratchet to lock. I had to drive home very nervously with just one transom strap. Big let down. Hopefully West Marine will still take these back. I'm going back to regular old school flip-type transom straps. Nice and simple.

These straps are easy to use and really secure my boat. If your looking for a replacement tie down this is a good way to go.
