I've just used this on some noisy amplifier pots that have received no maintenance for 30 years. Previous experience with other brands led me to assume that at least some of the pots would be beyond cleaning and need replacing, but this stuff brought even the worst of them back to life. Far exceeded my expectations and saved - or at least postponed - a tedious replacement job.

I used to love this product, with the old cans with a straw hooked to the side. This new design is terrible. I bought a can, and after using half it decided to quit spraying. So i bought another can, it did the same thing. I decided to give it one more try, and to no avail, another can quit spraying once it was half used. I'm not the only issue. I have watched friends smash these cans into the ground or throw them across the shop they were so mad due to the same exact thing happening to them multiple times. I now buy the penetrating lubricant on the same shelf for half the price and it works until the can is empty and does just what I need it to do. I have tried returning these cans to the store, I collected all of mine, my friends, and families half empty cans (10+ cans) and put them in a box and took them back to where i purchase them. They told me there was nothing they could do about it. I will never purchase this product again.

Comments about Wd-40 Aerosol:

I have used WD40 since the 60's and never had an issue with the product until the swing arm/straw spray. Two cans stopped spraying before the can was half used.
It is hard to find the old sprayer in cans larger than 3 oz. Still love the product but the spray straw needs a fix.

Excellent Long Term Corrosion Protection

By noah_zark

from Kersey, PA, United States

Comments about Wd-40 Aerosol:

A friend familiar with the product recommended it. I cleaned rust from a shovel that we leave out year round to clean up after the dogs, and then applied Specialist Long Term Corrosion Inhibitor ONCE two years ago. There is still a "wet" residue of the product on the shovel but NO RUST. I've applied it to mover blades, woodworking machine tables, hand tools, etc., by spraying on a rag and applying a thin film to the surface needing protection, and rust has yet to reappear. I've sprayed it on suspension components and underbody areas of my Jeep that had light surface rust two years ago, and the corrosion has not spread. This is one product that works as described.

40% left in can

By brucegoose

from Undisclosed

Comments about Wd-40 Aerosol:

I use WD40 for a variety of tasks as either a penetrant or to clean and dry electrical contacts. The smart straw can UPC# 079567100324 ran out of air with 40% of the fluid left in the can. Recommend staying away from this aerosol can.

Stops rust and corrosion

By redlanddude52

from Florida Keys, Fl

Comments about Wd-40 Aerosol:

I live in the Florida Keys. A very hot, very humid climate laden with salt air. The damp, salt air is highly corrosive. I spray WD-40 on all my lawn, garden construction equipment that have metal after each use. A 3 year old gas powered hedge trimmer still looks like new. My old one rusted rusted and was ruined. I use this for my saw blades, drill bits, tree saws and all keep their new like appearence and sharpness that otherwise would have rusted, dulled and been no good.

      Comments about Aerosol:

We all know that WD40 is the Duct Tape of the lubricant world. I used it this time to remove old caulking sealant on the boat when I re-did all of the caulk.

I had gotten all of the heavy stuff out with a razor blade then had to clean the rest that was stuck on there.
      Goo-Gone--did noting
      Mineral Spirits-did nothing
      Acetone-barely touched it
      Brake Cleaner--Nada
      Carb cleaner-Nada

Heard a guy say he used WD40. Was doubtful but happen to be at West Marine for some other things and saw it so I figured it woudl not hurt to try. Worked like a charm It. softened it up so I could scrape it right off with a plastic putty scraper and paper towels. Followed up with mineral spirits to get the WD off and good to go.
