(February 11, 2010) – West Marine, the country’s largest retailer of boating supplies and accessories, will introduce the MATRIX AIS GX2100 from Standard Horizon at the Miami International Boat Show.  Standard Horizon has taken AIS (Automatic Identification System) technology and placed it inside a full-function VHF transceiver so that you can not only see the locations on its built-in display, you can call them as well. One of the benefits is that you can use the same VHF antenna for the radio and the AIS, which greatly reduces the hassle of installation.
