West Marine, the largest specialty retailer of boating supplies and accessories, is looking for North Palm Beach area marine non-profits to be the beneficiaries of the “Casting for a Cause” charity event. Set for Thursday, June 9th from 6:00 – 9:00p.m. the benefit will kick off the Grand Opening weekend of West Marine’s new Flagship Store located at 11241 US Highway 1 in North Palm Beach. The company seeks charities that are based locally and serve the needs of the boating, fishing and sailing community or the marine environment.

“Casting for a Cause” participants will earn money from tickets sold for the event and 100% of the proceeds to go to the charities. West Marine will provide refreshments and entertainment and will advertise and promote the event within the community. Non-profits chosen to participate in the Grand Opening night’s celebration will be responsible for selling a minimum of 50 tickets ($10 per ticket) to the event as well as providing volunteers to help with the evening’s festivities.

West Marine hosts “Casting for a Cause” celebrations around the country and commonly has a minimum of 500 people in attendance. The evening festivities include a silent and live auction, music, food, and local community leaders in attendance.
