Largest Store in the Crystal Coast Located at the Crystal Coast Plaza to Aid Commercial Fisherman during Grand Opening Festivities
WATSONVILLE, Calif. (April 5, 2010) - West Marine, the largest specialty retailer of boating supplies and accessories, announced a Community Day to aid the “Carteret County Commercial Fisherman’s Assistance Fund” to take place on Friday, April 9th to start off a weekend of activities for the Grand Opening celebration of its newest store located at the Crystal Coast Plaza in Morehead City, North Carolina from April 9th April 11th.
For the entire day of Friday, April 9th West Marine will donate 5% of all sales at the Morehead City location to the “Carteret County Commercial Fisherman’s Assistance Fund.” The day’s activities will include a free barbecue from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM. The “Carteret County Commercial Fisherman’s Fund” was created to help pay the electricity bills of over 170 local commercial fisherman’s families who have had a difficult season on the waters of the Crystal Coast and are in financial need.
The brand new West Marine store is situated at the Crystal Coast Plaza, at 5160 Highway 70 in Morehead City and at over 15,000 square feet, is the largest West Marine in the Crystal Coast area. They offer an expanded selection of electronics, fishing, sailing, engine and apparel departments, as well as a Port Supply Hub for marine businesses, this Morehead City location was designed to meet the needs of local anglers, boaters, sailors and outdoor enthusiasts.
Starting at 8am on Saturday, April 10th the Grand Opening celebration continues all weekend with a boat shows, seminars, a kids petting tank, extraordinary discounts, great gifts and prize give-a-ways including $100 West Marine gift card, and more. The boat show will feature boats by Sterling Marine, Boats Inc, Portside Marina and more. Plus, local boat dealers and marine experts will be on site for several fishing seminars. The Crystal Coast Grand Prix will bring a Race boat for display and the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores will provide a kids petting tank on site as well.
The Raymarine Mobile Showroom will demonstrate cutting edge electronics while representatives from Pure Fishing, Penn Reels, Berkley Fishing, Garmin, Lowrance, Navico, Simrad, Maui Jim Sunglasses and many more will be available to answer your boating questions.
