The GPSMAP 546 is a compact chartplotter that features a high-resolution, super-bright 5” VGA color display along with an improved high-speed digital design for increased map drawing and panning speeds. It’s ready to go with an easy-to-use interface and a built-in, satellite-enhanced basemap preloaded with all U.S. coastal areas, including Alaska and Hawaii as well as detailed charts for the Bahamas. The GPSMAP 546 also accepts BlueChart® g2 Vision cards for added features and functionality such as high-resolution satellite imagery, 3-D views and Auto Guidance technology.

Explore the Seas

The GPSMAP 546 comes ready to go with preloaded U.S. coastal area map data. For areas outside the U.S., the GPSMAP 546 has a worldwide basemap with satellite images in place of more traditional maps. The GPSMAP 546 also comes standard with a high-sensitivity GPS receiver for superior satellite tracking and quicker acquisition times. In addition, the GPSMAP 546 can receive U.S. graphical weather data via optional GXM 51 satellite receiver/antenna. And with an SD card slot, it’s easy to add additional maps without connecting to a computer.

Add Sonar

Where applicable, the sounder version, GPSMAP 546s, comes with a powerful dual-frequency transducer that clearly illustrates depth contours, fish targets and structures whether you’re fishing in freshwater or off the coast. The GPSMAP 546 and GPSMAP 546s are also NMEA 2000-certified for easy connectivity with sensors, instruments and future marine offerings.

Add Extras with Inland Lakes Vision

With the optional BlueChart g2 Vision SD card, you can add a whole new dimension of exceptional features to your chartplotter.

  • MarinerEye view and FishEye view provide you a 3-dimensional perspective of map information, both above and below the waterline.
  • High-resolution satellite images and aerial photographs help you orient yourself in unfamiliar areas.
  • Auto Guidance technology searches through all relevant charts to create a route you can actually follow - one that avoids obstacles, shallow water, buoys and other obstructions.

Comments about GPSMAP 546s Chartplotter, with No Transducer:

This is an extremely fast and accurate unit. The install was quick and the screens are very easy to navigate through. When you add the blue chart vision card you will see an already amazing unit get even better. The views with the vision card are great and well worth the price. When you use the current $200.00 rebate for the purchase of the chart plotter & vision card, it's very reasonable and well worth the investment.

Comments about GPSMAP 546s Chartplotter, with No Transducer:

I use this chartploter/sounder in coastal waters of Delaware, out 20 miles and the Delaware Bay. It has exceptional clarity, even in direct sunlight. It fits in spaces where the bigger, more expensive ones won't. This is the perfect unit for boats 20 ft and under, but will serve a larger boat as well. Blue Chart Vision cards are available for boating anywhere in the world at a resonable price. This unit delivers the performance of larger and more expensive units at an affordable price.

Comments about GPSMAP 546s Chartplotter, with No Transducer:

This charplotter is very easy to use. I looked at comparable units from raymarine and lowrance but garmin was by far the most user friendly. Zooming in and out is very fast and smooth. The screen is very bright and easy to see even in the sunlight. The garmin also has the optional bluechart vision card which expands the systems capabilities by adding features such as satellite imaging, under water views, and auto guidance(which choses the best route for you, a major headache saver only offered offered by Garmin.) The fishfinder is very clear and detailed. Installation was straight forward. Overall this is a great system for boaters who want to plug it in and go because it's soo easy to use. Garmin has an excellent reputation in navigation so you really can't go wrong with this system.
