The Lifesling2 saves lives!
Get your crewmember back onboard fast! Lifesling2 is Coast Guard approved and works better than a ring or horseshoe buoy because:
- It can be towed to the overboard crewmember rather than the crewmember having to swim to itthis eliminates the danger of the crewmember coming in contact with the hull and propeller
- It can be used as a lifting sling if the crewmember needs help out of the water
The Lifesling2 system consists of a flotation collar which is a blend of the traditional horseshoe buoy and a helicopter rescue sling. Its connected to 125' of multi-filament polypropylene retrieving line which allows the flotation to be towed or thrown to the overboard crewmember. The collar and line are stored for protection against the elements in a new more rigid and attractive vinyl storage bag. Graphics on the bag illustrate the instructions for recovering a person in the water.
Note: This USCG-approved Lifesling2 is for powerboats with a lifting point 10' above the water, and sailboats over 20' LOA.

Comments about Lifesling2 Overboard Rescue System:
I have had to use this device, and not just for towing buddies behind the sailboat in the summer after the race. It functions well. The ONLY thing I will say is the bag is garbage, it fills with water and other debris easily and after one season looks really rough. Now I had a life sling one and the case stayed their for years before I had the boat but it was unsightly. I am guessing the hard case is the way to go.

Comments about Lifesling2 Overboard Rescue System:
One of those things that you hope to never need, but want there if you do need it. About the same price as a Jim Bouy horse collar type throwable, but with the advantage of being attached to the boat to make retrieval easier.

Service and delivery comments:
I was pleased to find a $20 coupon in my mail box this morning and immediately checked for this item online. Then I checked availability at my local store and asked them to hold one for me. Two hours later when I got to the store, the price was $5 higher than what I had seen online. The clerk and I verified the online price vs the register price and they were both higher than I had viewed hours earlier. I still bought this item as it was exactly what I wanted, but I am disappointed I had to pay more than originally advertised. The next time I will be sure to print the online advertisement before going to the store.

Comments about Lifesling2 Overboard Rescue System:
For our first boat, a 1974 CAL 25 sailboat on Seneca Lake in upstate NY, the Life Sling was highly recommended by our USPS instructors and by many others in our yacht club. Easy to mount, easily deployable, with very clear instructions. This gives us a great level of confidence for MOB, which we hope will never have to be used.

- Quick to deploy
