Comments about PCA Gold Antifouling Paint with Irgarol:
Painted the bottom of a 17' boat and used about 1/3 gallon. Will get at least another coat when ready. Hope it lasts. Only time will tell.

Comments about PCA Gold Antifouling Paint with Irgarol:
Where we moor our sailboat there is always a problem with the bottom getting fouled. In the past even the most expensive paint would allow some minor fouling on the bottom. This fall when the boat was pulled and I was winterizing it the head of the boat yard came over to me and asked what type of anti-fouling paint I used. After I told him his response was "Do not change that paint, I have never seen a boat come out after a season of use with no fouling at all on the bottom." All I can say is USE THIS PAINT.

Comments about PCA Gold Antifouling Paint with Irgarol:
I put it on heavy, maybe four coats which is 2 gallons on my 30 foot sail boat. It holds up for atleast 2 years in the hot waters of Baha. So easy to prep for recoating, just a light sanding after washing.

Comments about PCA Gold Antifouling Paint with Irgarol:
Going on 2 1/2 years now. Had good luck with hard paints before which also last about the same time, it was the build up of hard paints that made me switch. I live in Fla. and the boat, a power cat stays in the water. Last year with a 1 1/2 year on the paint and after the boat sat idle for 4 months I went for a long cruise. For the first 1/2 hour the boat would not even plane do to the heavy growth of weed and moss on the bottom . After about 1/2 hour it finally started getting on a plane and just after daylight, 2 hours later, I finally jumped in the water to clean the bottom, but to my suprise bottom was completly clean. All had wash off.

Comments about PCA Gold Antifouling Paint with Irgarol:
After scraping 30 years of hard anti foul off my hull off my sailboat hull, I swore "never again."
I love this paint, as it can be power washed right off, leaving a bare hull from which I can start from scratch. With ablatives, I think it's the thickness that determines length of the application as much as anything else. It takes a little under one gallon to apply one coat to my bottom. With the price point of PCA, I can apply three coats full coats and the remaining on the leading edges of the hull for extra build up. It lasts a long time and costs much less than the competition.

Comments about PCA Gold Antifouling Paint with Irgarol:
Any product will last a year. I put this product on 5 years ago. That's not a misprint. I like ablative paint. After a couple of years I have to scrub the waterline but it's easy to get to. Once a year I dive and clean the entire bottom when I do my zincs. I just hauled and the guys in the yard said my bottom still looked good. (hmm). They pressure washed it and the slime fell away. A little Brillo scrub and it was ready for a new coat. I've tried the go-fast hard paints on my race boats but for the cruisers here in the northwest this product will keep me coming back until our state prys it "from my cold dead hands."

Just applied it to my Silverton yesterday and it was a breeze! Covers well and doesn't leave any brush marks like the cheap paints. Go for it!

Comments about PCA Gold Antifouling Paint with Irgarol:
Before using this product we have tried multiple expensive Petit and Micron paints. Our boat is in brackish water where fouling of the bottom on sailboats is a problem. When the boat was pulled at the end of the season no one in the boat yard could believe that the boat had been in water for the full season. Yes there was some slime but not too much and that was it. First time since the banned tin paints the bottom had no growth. Buy it!!

Comments about PCA Gold Antifouling Paint with Irgarol:
Easy application and very good protection. We haul each year so the paint has to protect for only one full season, that said we share the hardstand with plenty of boats who's bottom paint gives up! PCA has worked consistently well for us in the semi-difficult conditions (85-degree plus) conditions of the Chesapeake Bay. The slime protection is unimpressive, but so too is it on the neighboring boats on the hardstand, regardless of paint manufacturer. I highly recommend this paint for great protection at a (bit) more reasonable price than the OEM paints.
