Comments about Composite Fiber Pro 340 Kayak Paddle:
A great composite paddle for the money. Composite paddles are fantastic for minimizing fatigue, letting you last longer trips. The down side to composite is that they can be more brittle. I tend to be a paddler and also tend to use the paddle as a boat hook at times of literally "shoving off". Not a good idea with these composite paddles. I mean, they aren't even designed for it, so I could see breaking easily there. I've personally not had any issues with breakage or even fear of, just wanted to point the characteristic of composite. I will still buy composite!

Comments about Composite Fiber Pro 340 Kayak Paddle:
I have this paddle and an aluminum shaft paddle and you can truly feel the difference in how quickly you get tired when using both This paddle is strong light and durable, Ive had it for nearly five years and go out at least once a week during the warmer months and this paddle still hasn't failed me. Highly recommended for all kayakers out there

Comments about Composite Fiber Pro 340 Kayak Paddle:
I have owned 3 of these and broken 2 , the last time when my wife and I got caught too far off shore on St. John, paddling our Advanced Elements Straight Edge II. We were in a stiff wind, and were forced to "abandon ship" at a remote beach where the wind blew us to because 1 paddle wouldn't allow us to make headway into the wind. I plan to buy 2 new paddles, looking for the most durable packable paddles I can find.

- Minimizes Fatigue

Comments about Composite Fiber Pro 340 Kayak Paddle:
West Marine was great on refunding cost of broken Pro 340s
We've used four of these paddles in mild surf conditions - for the only reason that our local West Marine store never had the aluminum paddles in stock. Two of them broke - one in the joint between two sections, another - paddle broke off! All - on very lightweight kayaks. No more of those for me.
A great, strong, lightweight paddle for recreational and touring kayaking - for easy paddling hours at a time
