        Comments about Marine Tex:

I first used Marine Tex about 40 years ago to repair a hole in an aluminum hull boat. Purchased Marine Tex recently to build up areas on my sailboats keel. Tough to get the epoxy out of the can but mixes well after hardener added. Adhere's well and I used plastic wrap to shape, good results.
Overall I'm pleased with this product, bit pricey but will defiently purchase again. Also use to fill holes in the gel coat. Applied like joint compound on drywall, easy to sand. Big pleasent surprise - clean up trowels with soap and water! Big plus!

Use this product on my 8 year old boat and it works awesome. My hull has taken some damage from loading and unloading on the trailer, slap some of this stuff on to patch up some deep stracthes and a little hole no problem. Mix well to get good results.

I have been a boater for over 30yrs and have never found a more veratile product. I have used it on an outdrive to fill in pitting and it lasts 2 or 3 years for that purpose. It sands smooth and can be painted. I have also used it on fiberglass , to fill in holes or deep scratches,it lasts years if applied correctly.

                        Comments about Travaco Marine Tex:

I have a swing keel and the hole for the hinging bolt was seriously elongated so I removed the whole keel and filled the hole in with Marine-Tex and when it was dry I drilled the hole again and after one year it has done a great job supporting the weight of my 525 lb keel. Based on the specs it should be strong enough to hold much more than 525 lbs.

The only problem I had was that the putty would sag as it was hardening and I had to re-shape it a few times before it was hard enough to hold its own shape.
