Comments about Galaxy AIS 4' VHF Antenna:

Bought this to use with a new Standard Horizon Matrix AIS GX2150 VHF radio, and the transmit and reception is exceptional! From between buildings on a low mast (all of 8 feet off the water at the base) I shot a clear signal 16 miles up the ICW from Vero Beach to Sebastian with no noticed loss. I was hoping for 10 miles line of sight, so needless to say I am in love with this little antenna. It's fairly beefy but light weight - nice. Seems hurricane sturdy for sure. I think the mast will go before the antenna blows off the top. Integrated cord made install a breeze, but may prove to be a problem on an install needing much more cable. I was able to cut off 2 feet, but if I'd run it a different way, I might have had to splice, and nobody likes to do that. No tuning was required in my install, and that was really nice!
