Comments about SB 275 Wood Floor Sportboat:
The only advantage of this boat is it is compact and stores well.
It is very hard to put together and requires 2 people. Also, there is no pressure indiactor (you need to push into it to see if it is hard)

Comments about SB 275 Wood Floor Sportboat:
I use this as a tender for my 37' sailboat. It must be the right size because when I use it, I wish it was a little bigger, but when I store it, I wish it was a little smaller. The floor is easy for me to assemble and disassemble; you just have to do it right. I have used the slat floor model, and this one is miles better.

Comments about SB 275 Wood Floor Sportboat:
I LOVE this boat. I use it as a tender for my 35' sailboat. I was concerned after using a friend's roll up, that my wife (who is afraid of water) wouldn't use it. The rigid wooden floor is great, and once I got her in to the boat, she loved it.
The boat is VERY stable, and rows decently. My 3.5 HP Mercury (Tohatsu) can get me and the boat up on a plane in about 45 sec. I also bought it at a WM special sale for a great price. I have used it for 2 seasons, and it shows no signs of wear, other than dirt.
However, as other have mentioned, assembly is a major hassle. I would say that it takes me ½ an hour to go from packed up, to assembled boat, with my 12VDC pump. If I had to use the included foot pump, it would be closer to an hour. I did not find it difficult to figure out how to assemble, or disassemble, but physically assembling the floor, and inserting the struts is a pain. A tip is that if you carry a little corn starch in a Ziplock bag, you can use the cornstarch to "lubricate" the crease that the struts squeeze into. While this helps, assembly of the floor and struts is still a PITA.
Because the floor is such a pain, I have started to load the SB-275 deflated, but with the floor assembled into my pickup truck for the summer sailing season.

Comments about SB 275 Wood Floor Sportboat:
Inadequate and misleading written instructions, and same for the assembly video on You Tube. The instructions refer to floor sections by number. But there are no numbers on the sections. The instructions say that the "reference mark" on the stringer must remain on top. But there is no reference mark. There is reference to figure "3-b." But there is no figure 3-b. In the video on how to assembe, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXnGux1W42A, the West Marine assembler skips over installation of most of the floor sections and the stringers, and then claims it only take 7 - 10 minute to assemble, although he acknowleges it is complicated. It has taken me about 90 minutes just to get the floor sections in and I have given up for the day on the stringers. West Marine should include assembly in this product. Once I, or someone from West Marine if they choose to stand behind their product and assembly instructions, get this assembled, I am not taking it apart again. Hopefully it will perform well on the water if it ever gets there.

Comments about SB 275 Wood Floor Sportboat:
Once assembled, this is a fine boat. But the assembly instructions are pathetic. And the disassembly instructions are non-existent. You have to get advice from someone who has done it and even then you will find it very hard (physically) to do. So, if you plan on using the boat without ever disembling it and rolling it up, this boat will suit you fine. Otherwise, don't touch it.
West Marine should be ashamed of the assembly instructions that come with this boat - incorrect, incomplete information and diagrams.

Cons
- Hard to assemble

Comments about SB 275 Wood Floor Sportboat:
I bought the SB 275 for use as 30 foot sailboat tender, in the past I had a WM inflatable with a slatted floor and wanted to try the hard wood floor. and bigger tubes. The SB 275 is harder to assemble and requires more room to store. while the ride is better in the SB275, I wish I had gotten another slatted floor model. Had to go to the store to look at thier floor model to understand the setup instructions.

Comments about SB 275 & 310 Wood Floor Sportboats:
The boat (the 310 model) is used at our lake place for puttering around and for the grand kids to fish from. With the 8hp Merc and 1 person 19.6 mph (gps)is achievable and its a lot cheaper to operate than my Cobalt. Assembly instructions leave a lot to be desired. Fairly easy to assemble once you have done it several times. Its a fun little boat.
