The pad option adds seating in camp or on a boat. The pad also keeps the sun off of the top which helps to keep the things colder longer.

Igloo really cheaped out by selling a so called premium cooler and not including a tray for items to stay off the ice and the cheap coolers have trays. Next time I will consider a Yeti even if it is very expensive it is a better made item. They do not even sell a tray for this size cooler, bad marketing Igloo.

I bought a 94 qt Marine Elite Cooler, expecting it to be better quality than the cheap coolers, it was not.
The very first trip, I lifted this cooler half full of soda and ice, the handle (which has only two short screws), pulled completely off dumping the contents on the platform and water.
Also, ice didn't last more than two days.

The advertising led me to believe that this cooler held ice longer than the standard marine coolers that I've used for decades. The Elite is the standard cooler with ss hardware. If I'd known I would have purchased the standard marine cooler and saved $10. In addition, the second time I used it a screw in a handle let go. After using Igloo for many years, I'm not happy with them now.

Overall this is a great cooler with good capacity. Hinges and lid locks are a great improvement over past coolers.
Ice does not last as long as stated in the product description.
For my purpose for long distance cruising and keeping produce fresh it works great. We had to change frozen ice bottles after 2 days.
