Comments about West Marine SeaVolt Dual Purpose Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries:
I had 2 grp 24 size fail at 18 mos. One had a case split the other shows an open cell. Up to the end both worked great. Can not determine a cause... Very disappointing. The batteries were in a fishing boat which was used every 3 weeks or so and always showed a full charge.

Comments about West Marine SeaVolt Dual Purpose Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries:
These 2 seavolt batteries are in a small fishing boat which is used every 3 weeks or so. For the first year and a half they worked great, held a charge and were very reliable. Quite suddenly both failed (during a 4 week window of non-use). One shows and "open cell" diagnostic and the other developed a case split. I could not find any evidence to pinpoint the cause of failure. I would recommend to a friend because the price was good, but with the caveat of my experience.

I replaced gel batteries with West Marine agm in my offshore heavy duty workboat. The agm are powerful and absolutely reliable, attributes that are essential to working in the Gulf.

Comments about West Marine SeaVolt Dual Purpose Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries:
I have used them with much better results than any other "service free batteries" as Starter Batteries for the 750HP Volvos on my 54' boat and the groupe of House Batteries to power lighting and electronics.

Comments about West Marine SeaVolt Dual Purpose Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries:
My 1yr old SeaVolt AGM threw an "Open Cell" code after one year. This was not a cheap battery and I am not happy.

Comments about West Marine SeaVolt Dual Purpose Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries:
Bought this battery to run the Ocean Kayak Torque trolling motor. Fished several hours a few times and the battery performed good. Will keep an eye on it to see how long it performs well.

Comments about West Marine SeaVolt Dual Purpose Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries:
I am just replacing two of these batteries after 4 years of use in a 23 foot center console with a 225hp outboard. I use my boat about 100 hours per year between April and September. I tested to see what the CCA's were and they were down to 200 and 250 so I am replacing them as a preventative measure. I run the boat yearly for a week of solid fishing in Florida and they are able to handle the live well, two radios, and the GPS/Fishfinder for 20-6o minutes 4-8 times during the day with 10-20 minute runs in between with no issues. I normally replace the batteries every two years but these have been flawless for 4.

- Starting and House Bank
Comments about West Marine SeaVolt Dual Purpose Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries:
I have a Bertram 31 with twin Mercruiser 330 hp engines. I used two of these Group 31 batteries per engine to replace the two Group 27 wet cell batteries from another high-end manufacturer I had on both engines. I have my electrical set up so that one side bears all the "house" load, plus bilge pumps and refrigerator. That way if I'm on the hook and take the batteries all the way down, the other bank can be used to start both engines. The side that carries the load takes a tremendous amount of abusive cycling. This was always a problem with the wet cell batteries that did not like being drawn down too far and quickly recharged. You could hear the difference in the speed the engines cranked after six or so months of having the house side batteries abused. These Seavolt AGM batteries have just been flawless in their ability to take the abuse of house and starting roles and come back fully charged and ready to go. There is no difference in the cranking speed of the engines after two years of service. There is no maintenance required and the batteries hold their charge when my diver forgets to plug my shore power back in like nothing I have ever used before.
I highly recommend these batteries. They are the best I have ever used.

Comments about West Marine SeaVolt Dual Purpose Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries:
I bought two 5 years ago for my 25' inboard boat with a 300 hp engine. They have started the engine every time even after a day of fishfinder, radio and circ pump in the baitwell running.
